Two optional browser tools sit alongside Thoughtogram: the Web Clipper and the Screenshot tool. Guides and troubleshooting for both are below.
Thoughtogram runs at thoughtogram.com/think.php and needs nothing installed. Both extensions are included with your purchase and add convenience, not access.
Web Clipper
Send what you find on the web straight to a board.
The clipper saves pages, highlighted passages, links and notes to your Thoughtogram account without interrupting your reading. It is a way in to your boards, not a place to view them.
The two ways to clip
- Right click any page for Save Page to Thoughtogram Home. Highlight text first and you get Save Highlight to Thoughtogram instead, which saves the passage with its source page attached. Both go to your Home board.
- The toolbar button opens a small panel with the page title and address already filled in. Add a note, choose which board it should land on, and save.
Either way, your board opens on the card you just made so you can see where it went.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need a Thoughtogram account?
Yes. The clipper saves to your own boards, so it does nothing on its own. Thoughtogram is a one-time purchase and both extensions are included with it.
Q: The right-click options are missing.
They only appear when you are signed in to Thoughtogram. Open your boards, sign in, then right click again. If they still do not show, close and reopen the browser so the extension re-checks.
Q: Can I right click into a board other than Home?
Not at the moment. The right-click items always save to Home, which keeps them instant. Use the toolbar button when you want to choose the board.
Q: I clipped a YouTube page and got a video.
That is intended. YouTube links become playable cards on the board. Click the card to switch it back to a plain link, and click again to bring the player back.
Q: Nothing happens when I click Add to Board.
Almost always an expired session. Open your boards in another tab to sign in again, then retry the clip.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: The tool says it cannot capture this page.
It works only on thoughtogram.com. On any other site it disables itself rather than producing an error. Open one of your boards and try again.
Q: The "exclude top toolbar" option is not showing.
That option only appears on a board, since that is the only page with a fixed toolbar to leave out. It is hidden on the dashboard and other pages.
Q: Where are my downloaded images saved?
In your computer's usual Downloads folder. The filename includes the date and time.
Q: The clipboard copy is bigger than the download.
Expected. Clipboard images are copied as PNG so they paste cleanly into other apps, while downloads use the compressed format you picked.
