The design of Thoughtogram is based on simplicity and flexibility. I have deliberately removed some features often found in whiteboard type apps. For example I have decided on a fixed board rather than an infinite scrolling and zooming board.
This allowed me to remove the scroll and zoom controls. That simplifies the user experience. There is no scroll or zoom fatigue. Instead, all the cards are in focus and readable on each board.
The user then get a clear and unobstructed overview of their board.
Removing User Interface Clutter
Most apps have a set interface which takes up space in the work environment. I have removed all of that.
The user gets an absolutely clean board. The toolbar only appears when called by long mouse button press or when a particular item is clicked. The user then gets a specific toolbar related to what they clicked.
Ultimate Flexibility
The beauty and power of Thoughtogram is the multiple baords and user designed navigation.
A user can create an unlimited number of boards and link to them in a non-heriarchical way. It means they can create their own visual wiki.
When you first start you will get a Home board filled with a few example cards. You can delete them when ready and design your own board.
Particular navigation is not forced on you. You can link to whichever boards you like allowing for maximum flexibility.
Pro Tip: The free trial bar at the top of your board disappears when you subscribe. You can subscribe early to remove the bar early by subscribing before the 30 day free trial is up. That way you get the full clean experience and help support me also.
